Bio

  • 19 Year old, Aydan Saunders started his racing career in 2016 at the age of 10 with the Southern New Mexico Karting Association. From the time in 2016-2018, he collected 13 wins with the series in a range of different classes. This success brought on 2 championships in the oval karting ranks, though on the side there was another discipline being learned
  • At the end of the 2016 season, he began to run with the Border Karting Association at the El Paso Motorplex with the Junior Lo206 Series. As a rookie, he won all but one race that season while clinching his first racing championship a race early.
  • As the 2017 season came along, Saunders moved up in class with the SNMKA and completed an impressive season sweep with a championship to go with it. Due to a broken wrist late in the year, he was not able to contend for his second straight BKA Championship
  • 2018 Brought another new journey with a move up to the U.S Legend Cars class at the Southern New Mexico Speedway. Just after capping off the final SNMKA season with a championship and 3 wins, Saunders made the decision to move up. Though, there was not immediate success, slow improvement set Saunders up for a succesful 2019 season.
  • The 2019 Season started for Saunders in Tucson, AZ with BKA at the Musselman Honda Circuit. Saunders won both of the season opening races in dominating fashion. In March, after coming back from two broken legs in a motocross accident, he dominated once again in Tucson. The legend side of things started with a new track being open in the southwest. Vado Speedway Park opened its doors for its first weekend in June of 2019. At the age of 14, Saunders scored a top 10 in his first start at the track. As the year progressed, the top 10 speed turned in to top 5 speed, eventually leading to an incredible first win scored on September 7th, 2019.
  • A delayed start to the 2020 Season due to the COVID-19 Pandemic brought Saunders to a new track in Roswell, NM, Alien Motor Speedway. The speedway was opened for 17 races in 2020. Saunders won his second legend car race in August of that year before a few months of struggle for the group. After this, a string of 5 straight wins by Aydan would put him back in title contention for the inagural season. Another second place, followed by a win in the season finale would score him 14 points short of a championsip.
  • After the momentum built up from the 2020 Season, 2021 was set to be spectacular, and it was nothing short of that. After a journey to the east coast for some asphalt racing, Saunders returned back to a new track right across the street from MHC where he had his karting success. A last second decision to run the season opener brough home a thrilling first asphalt victory. During the season, dominance would continue with a few more big wins, and championships. A first legends car championship at Vado, 18 wins between 3 tracks, and a $1000 win at the Gobbler at Alien Motor Speedway. Finally, to end the year, Saunders would enter the Silver State Road Course Series at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. A win in the final race of the season, along with consistent podium runs, allowed Aydan to earn 2nd in points and the Rookie of the Year award.
  • 2022 Started the journey up to the 305 Sprint Car class at Vado Speedway Park. In 2022, 9 legend car wins were collected along with the Vado Speedway Park Sprint Car Rookie of the Year award.
  • For the 2023 season, it would be Saunders' second season in the sprint car class with Hulsey Racing behind him. It started off with a few top 5s and some struggles through the middle of the season. On the legend side of things, it was a very good season. 12 wins were brought home at Hallett, Las Vegas, Roswell, Springfield, and Vado. The biggest highlight of the legend season was winning sweeping the inagural Legends of the Southwest September Showdown with 2 wins at Vado and a $1000 win at Alien Motor Speedway. At the end of the season, Saunders won at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Road Course in the Pro divsion.
